hello
this is gonna be my first page i write in english, first i wanna say sorry if my english is broken because English is not my native langugae hehe,, but i keep learning to be better.
i just wanna share and give a tips that maybe would help to all the readers especially a woman who never travel solo, and interesting to try traveling solo
iam indonesian and iam 21 years old, i start my solo travel since september 10th 2018 until september 17th 2018. it was the craziest decision i ever made so far in my life, because i live with my parents, and i never travel solo before in my whole live, thats mean i never know how is it to be alone especially in other country, but God help me alot and im really lucky with this decision to travelling solo.
september 10th, 9am, i arrived to the airport in don muang bangkok
tips :
1. i always take morning flight when in other country, it will be safer and easier to get transport to the hotel
2. i always use money belt to keep my money and my card safe under my clothes
3. i always buy the local sim card so i always connected to the internet, also i can always have comunication with my parents.
Day 1
i order a grab car from the airport to the hotel it cost 350 baht and toll like around 100bath, i booked hotel in khaosan palace (the location is in the middle of the khaosan road) for 2 nights, the hotel is good, the location is so crazy and its so strategic, i just go down to the lobby and all the barss, shop, food and everything really in front of my hotel!
few hours in thailand i only have myself lol, so i just walking around the khaosan road, try some local food (pad thai, rotee, and pomegranate juice!! this is the best juice ever, i tried foot massage in khaosan road for 2 hours it cost 250 baht and it was soo nice)
the khaosan road in the night, in the midnight people will dancing in the road:) so cool
Day 2
i woke up in the early morning and ready to explore this city, first i just visit the tample near to the hotel,
tips :
Dress approriately to visit tample, so you can just enter to the tample easier
If you dont , you can still visit the tample they will borrow you something to cover up
And then i walking to the shopping road which is so close from the khaosan road, everybody selling clothes, shoes for really really cheap if you smart to negotiation ;D
So i met one friend from Dubai and then we decided to do the tamples tour together, we started from i dont know the name of the tample lol, and then wat pho (the sleeping budha) and grand palace, he want to see another tample but im too tired to walk so we just back to our own hotel
Tips :
You can use tuk tuk to reach to the tample we paid for 80 baht from the khaosan road to wat pho
You need to pay 100 baht to enter to the wat pho and 500 baht to enter to the grand palace
From wat pho to grand palace you can walk like 10 or 15 mins
in the evenning i watching the lady boys show with one friend from Morocco, The lady boy's show was so fun, i mean damn those lady boys has really beautifull body im crying lol, and then we also see bangkok city from the high flyer, and then we end up back to khaosan road and having party in front of my lobby Hotel.
Day 3
I took a flight to phuket in the morning, i booked resort in kata beach, which is pretty far from patong beach or bangla road, i took a shuttle bus (you can get the shuttle bus in the airport) to kata it cost 250 baht, i was the last people in the shuttle bus because kata is soo far away, and everyone was stopped in patong beach (which is more touristy)
why do i've to choosed kata ?because i've heard the beach is so beautiful and it less touristy than patong beach, and yess the beach is so so wonderfull, the sands is so soft and so white, this place is really nice for relaxing, enjoy the beach and maybe honey moon.
so yea it wasnt good idea for me as a solo travel to stay in kata, also in this place everything is so expensive than other place in bangkok or phuket, but the beach is so damn beautiful, i catched the perfect sunset, and also catched the beautiful blue ocean from my hotel balcony, and i tried the best spa in my life from this resort.
i met one russian guy and having a little drink and chat, he told me about his life and so many story that i can learn from it and then he have to go to the party and because the party is so far away from my hotel, i decided to just stay alone in my place and enjoy the silence and the peace from this place.
Day 4
I took city half day tour start from kata view point, and see so many tamples, and big budha it was so awesome, i saw so many people put their prayers under the budha's tample, and i love this place alot, i can see the city and the sea from above, and because of it i made everyone in the tour waiting for mee, i feel so bad for that :(
i moved to stay in patong, and in the night i met up again with the Morroco girl that i met in bangkok, and we spent the night to explore the bangla road together, it was the craziest road i ever see in my life so far, the girls dancing in the table with the bikini, everyone offer us the "shows" well some friends told me about what kind of show is it, well you can figure it our by your self nif youre corious but becareful so many lady boys over there hehe , so bangla road is all about the party, girls and dancing everywhere and yeahh of coursee the delicious food
Day 5, 6, 7
Day 5 i took a james bond island tour, start at 7 in the morning the weather was ok, not always sunny but not always rain, i met one guy and his mother from Colombia they travel together for 2 months, really a sweet son and mom traveling together i love to see them, they sharing their story and their life, and so many times i told them they are so lucky with their life and everything they has, because imagine the mother is almost 70 years old but she is really humble friendly active and really have young spirit, she thought me alot and i hope i would be like her when i grow old, and i i hope i could be like her son takes my parents to travel everywhere.
We started to make plan together and always be together on the rest of my trip, we move to Phi Phi island together and met one young girl who is also solo traveling for 2 months, and she is from Mexico, we stay in the same hotel and spent time together, we tried really the most delicious thai food called "tom kha" i mean omg this is the best.
In the morning we were hiking to Phi Phi Poin, yes also with his mother :) she is really fit and healthy, i really miss her :'( and we rented a private boat and start to do island hoping, do snorking, and share each other life, listen to my favorite musics yesss "raggeaton" lol
in the next i have to back to phuket to stay close to the airport, and in the next day im leaving from thailand. i wish i could meet the Morroco girl again because she stayed in patong but i have no time :(
THE LAST POINT :
what i learn from traveling solo is iam become more confident with my self, i become more sensitive and caring about everythings around me, i become more simpatic with other people and become more friendly, it was a biggest experience in my life that teach me alot to be better person and to be a brave woman :).
Travel solo doesnt mean i always be alone or feel lonely, but its about meet new friends and learn something new from them and thinking out of the box in a good way <3
